Do I Need Braces

Orthodontic procedures are a short-term investment with long-term results!

If you have crowded or cooked teeth, teeth that are too far apart, an under bite, a crooked bite, or an over bite, you could be in need of braces. There are many benefits to correctly aligned teeth and jaw. Most properly aligned teeth enhance biting, chewing, and speaking functions of the jaw (lisps).

Depending on the severity of your malocclusion (bad bite) or irregularity, orthodontic treatments very in phases.

Generally, orthodontic treatment will take anywhere from 6-30 months to complete with treatment time depending on the treatment plan designed specifically for you, and the devices used to correct teeth.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children see an orthodontist as early as age seven. At this point the orthodontist will evaluate whether your child will need orthodontic treatment. If facial or oral irregularities are seen, see a dentist earlier than age seven. Early treatment will help to make room for permanent teeth to come in properly and lessens the chance of jaw surgery in the future.
