Save money, eat healthier, read more, and of course; go to the gym.

It has been proven that one of the first things people look at when meeting someone new is their teeth. Having a good smile can affect your job, your personal life, and even your self-esteem. Implants Made Easy!

Are you thinking about getting implants? Still have questions? We have compiled all of our sources into one place for you to get all of your questions answered!

Do I need implants?

Are Dental Implants Right for You?

Dental Implants vs. Dental Bridges

Dental Implants vs. Dentures

All of those sources offer great insight, but here is a bit more information that can help you make your decision!

What are dental implants?

A dental implant is a titanium metal replacement for the root of a tooth that is surgically implanted in the jawbone. Dental implants are built to last and have so many benefits!

Dental implants are an excellent option for adults of any age. No matter if the tooth was lost due to injury, decay, or wasn’t there from birth; a dental implant can be a great option to adjust your smile and help you feel more comfortable showing off those pearly whites!

What lifestyle changes will I have to make?

A dental implant isn’t meant to change anything but your smile and confidence!

Dental implants are also much easier to care for than other tooth-replacement options. You care for them just like your regular teeth! Brushing, flossing, and other oral habits stay the same and allow for easy adjustment and care. Unlike other dental replacement options, dental implants will last for decades and are permanent options that you could essentially forget about! Dentures and dental bridges require specific cleaning, aren’t as durable, and could even get lost!

Here at The Center of Dental Professionals, we see the dental implant journey as a three-step process.

  1. Consult 2. Implant Placement 3. Restore. We work one-on-one with you to create a treatment plan and decide what course of action is best for your situation!

There are many different dental implant options, and each has its benefits. When you come in for your consultation and evaluation, our dentist will sit down with you and help you decide which option is best for you!

Do you still have more questions about dental implants? We are hosting a Dental Implant Seminar on November 12th from 6-7 at our downtown location!

Dr. Benson will be presenting on everything implants! Come and listen to your options and ask any of your questions. Call us at (801)747-8018 and follow us on Facebook to get more information!

Is Arthritis Preventing You From a Healthy Smile?

By David L. Steed

As we all get older, maintaining proper care of our teeth can seem like a daunting task. Prescription medications and health conditions like arthritis that severely limit mobility in the hands and fingers can quickly deteriorate a healthy mouth. The circumstances of aging don’t have to be detrimental to your health. With the help of a proper Dental Provider, like the Center of Dental Professionals, you can continue to experience a beautiful smile.

The number one recommended practice for adults to maintain a healthy mouth is brushing teeth twice a day and flossing once per day to prevent oral health problems. These problems may include debilitating conditions like gum disease, root decay, tooth loss, dry mouth as well as a variety of other periodontal diseases. When proper tooth care is combined with regular visits to the dentist (every six months) people feel healthier and many individuals are able to sustain longer lives.

In 2008, a combined study by the American Dental Association and Crest/Oral-B found that most American adults believed that regular brushing techniques and visiting the dentist often were the key to proper mouth care. Of those individuals, 25% self-reported not having visited a dentist in the past year and an additional 54% only visited the dentist once.

It is because of this data that The Center of Dental Professionals urge all patients to visit the dentist regularly. With the help of a family dentist that you trust, most oral diseases are highly preventable or at the very least treatable with specialized care. Many healthcare providers are sensitive to the needs of their elderly patients and can make suggestions during consultation to meet individual circumstances. Other ailments such as arthritis, cancer treatments, and prescription medications should be discussed with your dentist to help them suggest alternative treatments to prevent bone loss or tooth decay.

At The Center of Dental Professionals we know that healthcare is a highly individual experience. Our amazing team of dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff want to find ways to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle for years to come. Please visit any of our office locations to discuss any concerns you might have about your oral health in Salt Lake City, Utah.
